The noise in your EMG signal can be caused by several reasons.You should take the following considerations when acquiring an EMG signal:
- make sure that the hub or the computer is not charging (50Hz noise)
- make sure to use a new electrode for each acquisition
- clean the skin before placing the electrodes onto the skin (e.g with alcohol), remove hair
- place the two measuring electrodes along the muscle fibre, on top of the muscle hill (2 cm apart)
- place the reference electrode in a region of low muscular activity (bone)
- the reference cable must be connected to the ground port (arrow facing downwards) of your hub
- the EMG sensor cable must be connected to one of the analogue channels
- check the general recommendation for electrode positioning for EMG
