The list below helps you resolve some of the most common errors that may appear while using OpenSignals (r)evolution. Click on the error message below to see applicable solutions for your error.
No Bluetooth adapter found. Verify if an adapter is connected and turned on. or No Bluetooth adapter detected.
Ensure that your acquisition computer’s internal Bluetooth model is enabled.
We recommend using our Bluetooth dongle as some PC internal Bluetooth modules can cause some unexpected incompatibilities with our systems and to ensure that the correct drivers are installed. You can find detailed instructions in this article.
The device could not be found. Verify that it is within range and turned on.
Your Bluetooth Adapter is not being able to find the specified device. Either it’s turned off, out of range or there’s interference in the environment
The communication port does not exist or it is already being used.
This exception usually means that the device you are trying to connect to is already connected somewhere else.
Try the following steps (sorted by priority) to see if it solves your problem and move on to the next steps if needed:
- Restart the software that is connecting to the device and reconnect
- Restart your device and reconnect
- Manually force the disconnect of your software with the device and reconnect the device
- Ensure that the correct Bluetooth drivers are installed

A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable network. or A socket operation encountered a dead end
This exception will present itself in your Windows language and when using a BITalino and might be related to your Bluetooth driver. Review the instruction to “No Bluetooth adapter detected”.
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
Your Bluetooth Adapter is not being able to find the specified device. Either it’s turned off, out of range or there’s interference in the environment.
Only one usage of each socket address is normally permitted.

Operation invalid under current device state.
An attempt has been made to use device features that are currently inaccessible. This error can occur, for example, if your device is already conducting an acquisition and you try to restart another one or schedule new acquisitions.
Try the following steps (sorted by priority) to see if it solves your problem and move on to the next steps if needed:
- Stop any ongoing acquisitions and try use the intended device feature
- Restart your device
- Restart your software
