Why is a Value-Added Tax (VAT) applied to my purchase?

For customers located within the European Union (except Portugal)

Your local VAT rate is applied on your purchase during the checkout process as in accordance with EU laws and regulations.

VAT exemptions apply on purchases from companies and institutional entities (e.g. universities or research centers). If you are eligible for a VAT exemption, please ensure that you submit your valid VAT number with your billing information during the checkout process.

For customers located in Portugal

PLUX is located in Lisbon, Portugal where local tax rules state that all customers with a Portuguese legal address will have to be charged according to the local VAT rate (23%).

For customers located outside the European Union

Customers located outside the EU are not charged any VAT.
