How do I identify new vs. old wearables?

Our latest update of wearables released in May 2024 consists of wearables with new and significantly different hardware architecture as compared to the 2022 versions. Yet, they both share the same form-factor.

You can identify what version you have using the following identifiers. For technical details, see the wearables documentation.

Logo Differences

The old version of the consist of a roundish logo, while the new version has a new, sharper logo.

MAC-Address Label

On the backside of your device, you’ll find a barcode with the MAC-address of your device below. New versions of the wearables have an additional “BLE” identifier before the MAC-Address.

Software Identifier

New devices will be listed as BLE devices in your Biosignals Studio software (e.g. cardioBAN BLE) while older device are listed as their respective name only (e.g. cardioBAN).

Time of Purchase

If you purchased any wearable before May 2024, then your device is part of the older lineup.
